The Colocynth (Citrullus colocynthis), also known as Bitter Apple or Desert Gourd, is a hardy plant found in the arid regions of Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Recognizable by its vine-like growth, lobed leaves, and small, round fruits with a bitter taste, it has been used traditionally for its medicinal properties despite its toxicity. The plant's deep roots and drought tolerance make it an essential species for stabilizing sandy soils and surviving in harsh desert environments.

Despite its exotic appearance, the Halfmens is a challenging plant to grow, requiring specific care and conditions to thrive.

Panicum turgidum, commonly known as Turgid Sage Grass or Kurdu, is a resilient grass species that thrives in arid and semi-arid regions of Africa and the Middle East. Its name reflects its ability to become swollen or turgid, enabling it to withstand drought and harsh conditions. This grass plays a vital role in the ecosystem, providing forage for livestock and helping to prevent soil erosion with its extensive root system.
